Best Bites in Flagler Beach: Local Cafes, Taco Joints & Watering Holes Steps From Your Suite

There’s a certain rhythm to eating in Flagler Beach...
Wake up to the Atlantic. Walk for Coffee. Follow the salty breeze toward a plate of fresh Seafood. Stop for a Fish Taco. Stay out for one more drink because the sky over the water has turned cinnamon-pink.
And the best part? From Bombora Oceanfront Suites, you can leave the car parked and explore much of it on foot.
Our four-suite, family-owned property sits at 901 N. Ocean Shore Boulevard, just steps from the sand and within walking distance of Flagler Pier, local restaurants, cozy cafés, casual bars, and classic beach-town hangouts. No long drives. No hotel shuttle. No packing everyone into the car for a quick breakfast.
Just steps from your suite. Just steps from the Surf. Just steps from your next great meal.
Here are a few local favorites to add to your Flagler Beach vacation food map.
Start With Coffee and a Slow Coastal Breakfast
Before the beach towels, before the Pier, before the first walk along the cinnamon-colored sand : there must be Coffee.
Luckily, Flagler Beach makes the morning ritual easy.
Sip & Surf Coffee
At Sip & Surf Coffee, you’ll find carefully crafted coffee, espresso drinks, organic teas, specialty lattes, matcha, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, croissants, and baked treats. It’s a neighborhood kind of place : welcoming, relaxed, and close enough to the ocean that your morning still feels like a beach outing.
Try one of their specialty drinks, such as the Banana Bread Latte or Strawberry Vanilla Matcha, then take your breakfast outside and ease into the day.
Their hours and menu can change, so check the current details before heading out. The shop is located at 701 North Oceanshore Boulevard, making it a convenient walk north from Bombora.
Did I mention the best part? You can grab your Coffee, stroll back to your suite, and enjoy it with an ocean view before anyone else is fully awake.

SunBros Café
Looking for more than a grab-and-go latte? SunBros Café offers coffee, specialty espresso drinks, breakfast, lunch, cocktails, and a relaxed patio-and-bar atmosphere.
It’s in the heart of Flagler Beach at 301 Moody Boulevard, a little inland from the oceanfront strip. That makes it a nice choice when you want to wander through town and see a different side of the neighborhood : the local shops, side streets, and easygoing retro energy that give Flagler Beach its personality.
SunBros is also a good rainy-day option. There’s space to settle in, catch up with friends, or enjoy a leisurely meal when the afternoon weather decides to do its Florida thing.
Where to Find the Best Fish Tacos Near the Pier
A beach town without Fish Tacos? Not possible.
Funky Pelican
Right at the base of the Flagler Beach Pier, the Funky Pelican is one of the easiest choices when you want lunch with a view. From Bombora, it’s roughly a 5-to-10-minute walk north, depending on how often you stop to admire the waves : and you probably will.
The atmosphere is casual, breezy, and unmistakably beachside. Menu favorites include fish and shrimp tacos, seafood, burgers, and other easygoing coastal fare. There’s also a full bar, so your lunch can smoothly become an afternoon “just one more drink” situation.
Why go?
Pier-front setting
Fish and shrimp tacos
Casual food for families and groups
Ocean views
Easy walk from your suite
Would a taco taste better when you can see the Atlantic from your table? We think so.
Flagler Fish Company
For the seafood-focused traveler, Flagler Fish Company is a local favorite and one of the area’s standout hidden gems.
Located at 180 S. Daytona Avenue, this restaurant combines a seafood market feel with a relaxed dining experience. The menu changes with the catch and often includes fresh fish, shellfish, and creative preparations. It’s also known for taco specials that go beyond the usual beach-bar version, with bold sauces, grilled vegetables, and plenty of flavor.
This is a particularly good stop if your group can’t agree on one type of Seafood. One person wants tacos. Another wants grilled fish. Someone else wants to browse the market case and take home something for dinner.
That last option is easy at Bombora. Every suite includes a full kitchen, so you can pick up local ingredients and make a simple meal back “home” : no reservation required, no shoes required.

Classic Beach-Town Seafood and Oceanfront Drinks
The Golden Lion Café
For the full retro Flagler Beach experience, make time for The Golden Lion Café.
This longtime beachside restaurant and bar is known for Seafood, Fish and Chips, tropical drinks, live entertainment, and a lively oceanfront setting. It has the kind of atmosphere that feels made for vacation : open-air dining, salty breezes, cold drinks, and a little music in the background.
Check the restaurant’s current calendar before you go. The Golden Lion regularly features live performances, themed events, seafood specials, and happy-hour offerings.
It’s a good choice for:
A casual dinner with visiting friends
Fish and Chips by the ocean
A lively evening out
Tropical cocktails
That classic Florida beach-bar feeling
Want dinner to feel like an event without dressing up for one? This is your place.
Finn’s Beachside Pub
At 101 N. Oceanshore Boulevard, Finn’s Beachside Pub is just a short walk north of the Pier and an easy stroll from Bombora.
Finn’s is the kind of laid-back watering hole where the evening can go in several directions. Maybe you stop in for a burger, wings, seafood, or a wrap. Maybe you find a seat on the deck, watch the action along A1A, and stay for live music. Maybe you came for one drink and end up catching the game with a table full of new vacation friends.
That’s Flagler Beach.
The setting is casual, the mood is friendly, and the beach is never far away. Check the current schedule for live entertainment and hours, especially if you’re planning a late-night outing.
Don’t Forget the Ice Cream Stop
Did I mention Ice Cream is practically its own food group here?
After tacos, Seafood, or a long walk along the beach, make room for a scoop at Sally’s Ice Cream. It’s a classic stop for a cold, creamy treat, especially on a warm afternoon when the sun has turned the sidewalks bright and golden.
Grab your cone and take a slow walk toward the water. Or bring dessert back to the ocean-side patio at Bombora and enjoy the view without rushing.
Salted Caramel after a beach day? Absolutely.

Your Flagler Beach Food Crawl, Made Easy
One of the reasons guests love staying at Bombora is the flexibility.
You can start the day with Coffee at Sip & Surf, walk to the Pier, stop for Fish Tacos at Funky Pelican, wander through town, and finish with Seafood and live music at The Golden Lion or Finn’s.
All without turning the day into a driving itinerary.
And when everyone is tired : sandy, sun-warmed, and pleasantly full : your suite is right there.
Every Bombora suite includes:
A full kitchen
Sleeper sofa accommodations
Ocean views
Free on-site laundry
Direct beach access via the dune walk-over
A shared ocean-side patio
Walkability to Flagler Pier, cafés, restaurants, and bars
You can bring breakfast back to your suite. Store leftovers in the refrigerator. Make a late-night snack. Pour a glass of wine and watch the moon shimmer across the Atlantic.
That’s the difference between a standard hotel room and a true oceanfront home base.

A Few Tips Before You Head Out
Flagler Beach dining is wonderfully casual, but a little planning helps.
Check hours before walking. Local restaurants may adjust schedules seasonally, and special events can change the usual routine.
Go early for popular breakfast spots. Morning Coffee and ocean views are a powerful combination.
Bring a light layer. Evenings near the water can feel breezy, especially if you’re sitting outdoors.
Ask about the catch of the day. Fresh Seafood is one of the best reasons to eat locally.
Let the walk be part of the experience. This is not a rushed, chain-filled beach strip. It’s a retro coastal town with colorful characters, classic storefronts, live music, and plenty of time to wander.
